Run a Successful Contest on Facebook
While the Win a Prize application provides you with the right foundation and tools to run a successful contest, it’s up to you to provide the inputs required to make your contest a true success. Below are a few hints on how you can improve your odds of running a successful contest:
Advice #1: Offer an attractive prize - You will get more buzz if you offer an attractive prize. In other words, a big prize will increase the reproduction rate of invites because people will be more interested in entering and refering your contest.
Advice #2: Plant a big seed - If you don't let people know about your contest, no one will enter it. If you have an existing newsletter list use it! If you have a marketing budget then invest it into Facebook's Social Ads. The bigger the initial seed of contestants that enter your contest, the more quickly your message will spread among Facebook users.
Advice #3: Experiment - Let's face it, the Win a Prize application is a dream tool for any company that wants to leverage Facebook’s viral power. If your first contest doesn't yield the results that you hoped for then start to experiment: run a second contest and change your prize, your creative, etc.
